The book is in excellent condition and it is delivered on time. The bookstore who sold it was extremely helpful to the customers and responded well to solve my problem.
The one complaint I have is actually with Amazon. I made a wrong entry about the shipping address and you guys have no capability to help me to correct that even though it was discovered immediately. You should have a setup that at least you can forward the change request to the vendors. By leaving everything to the customer to solve the problem does not look good on Amazon. What is wrong to at least tell the customer you will notify the vendor about any change??

Summary: "Best of Beginner Computer books"
The clear step by step information leaves other beginner books far behind. This one doesn't try to be clever and does not muddy the learning process with silly cartoons, words that aren't familiar, or excessive wordiness. The illustrations are top rate and they're used throughout the book.
I recently was in a big bookstore and looked at many instruction books for computers. It's surprising how complicated those books are. Addo Sturr's books are simple and informative.

If you have purchased more than 1 HOW TO book you should have learned the process is similar to playing dice, it is after all a crapshoot. In this case I will say the book was well written and mostly right on point. Mostly is the sticking point, eh? When I did run into trouble the staff at Visual Steps were good and timely, an important point. However, do not think you will suddenly become free of the computer guru you have scoped out, that is not the case. I thought I managed XP fairly well so I took the test they offer prior to beginning the book, I passed it easily. I should add that I was doing this book to prepare for Digital Photo Editing for Seniors which I have started. I am an old school photographer, better than fair, but this digital era has been a nightmare on Elm St. it ever there was one for me. I have several programs for managing digital photo files and have taken courses at tech school on Adobe CS and Elements. I am still plagued with problems, simple things that may not be attributed to a particular program but more to the OS of the laptop Dell I use. I think many will find this a much higher rating than I've given it, that is why I've gone to extent to explain my need and purpose.

Summary: "Good basic explanation"
This book was very helpful in helping my dad to get started with the computer. He is now using some basic apps like word. Together with a service I found, www.famililink.com , that enables seniors to easy interact with their family online, his computer abilities have improved a lot and our connection!

Summary: "Geat for computers beginners"
I bought this for my father without actually seeing the book and he thinks it's great! He has been dabbling with a computer for a year and trying to wade through manuals, help books, etc. and was always frustrated. He loves this book, says it answers all his questions, not like other beginner books that assume you know computer basics. This is for the non computer literate very beginner, especially older adults. He says it's written in a way he can understand.
